Certified Nursing Assistant Program
Vista Academy will offer high school students a Certified Nursing Assistant program that falls within the Denver Public Schools Health Sciences & Public Safety Career Cluster. Students will have a state of the art space that was established in the original planning of Vista Academy and will be another staple in our CTE course offerings. The Health Sciences is an area of growth for the 21st century and our students will be on the cutting edge of what is new in the nursing field. Due to our proximity to the University of Colorado Health Sciences campus and the Medical Center of Aurora, internships, job-shadowing opportunities and various other opportunities are limitless for our students. Through their cohorts students will select a country where international nursing organizations serve and focus on the language, practice of nursing in that region and culture to strengthen their experiences and position them to compete in a global economy.
Vista Academy’s nursing program will prepare students to take the Colorado State Nurse Assistant Certification Test. Students in this program will also have postsecondary credit options through our partnership with the community college system.
